Unfortunately, a good number of commenters on my last post suggested gender neutral names for bitch-boy which was not the task. The task was a way to replace the words, ‘he’ and ‘him’ and ‘his’ with genderless terms that would not be used for a human being. Also a number of commenters suggested using “speech marks” which unfortunately cannot work as I will often use the terms in question, “within passages of speech“, which are already in italics and bounded by speech marks.
